About us

The Basingstoke Astronomical Society was founded in March 2004 by a small group of dedicated astronomy enthusiasts. They chose to set up the club at the Clidessden Primary school and we continue to use this location for our meetings.

Over the past 20+ years we have been very lucky to be able to engage some of the notable presenters and  amateur astronomers because of the history behind the society as well as the fantastic work of the active amateur astronomers in the society.

And things can only continue and improve if every member of the society is committed to making this happen.
